Our process
Every single piece that enters the Wear Again edit goes through the same authentication process — no exceptions, no shortcuts. This is not a formality. It is the entire foundation of what we do.
"You are not buying a piece. You are buying our certainty."
1. Hardware weight and finish. Authentic luxury hardware has a specific weight and finish that cannot be replicated cheaply. We check every clasp, chain link, and closure.
2. Stitching quality and pattern. Every major house has a specific stitch count, thread colour, and pattern. Deviation at any point disqualifies the piece immediately.
3. Serial numbers and date codes. We verify the format, placement, and font of every serial number against authenticated examples from the relevant house and era.
4. Leather quality and smell. Genuine leather has a specific texture, grain pattern, and scent that synthetic materials cannot replicate. We check both.
5. Interior lining and finishing. The inside of a luxury piece is as carefully finished as the outside. Lining fabric, seam finishing, and interior hardware are all checked.
6. Provenance documentation. Where available, we verify dust bags, authenticity cards, receipts, and certificates. Their absence does not disqualify a piece — their presence adds certainty.
7. Comparative reference check. Every piece is cross-referenced against verified authentic examples from our own network and trusted databases. When in doubt, we pass.
If a piece fails at any point in this process, it does not enter the edit. It is that simple.
